Description

Another Bee shoot today, this time a very metallic Green Sweat Bee (Agapostemon). These are very quick little creatures, but this one was nice enough to stop and be photographed. My wife commandeered the camera for a bit and took a fuller body shot:

Very nice high magnification capture, these bees are hard to remain steady and get them this near is a real testimonal of your patience.

Liked the shine green pattern of the skin, the expressive compound eyes look to the observer and have a minumum of flash reflections, as the reflexes in the mettalic parts are well controled.

By compositive part, there is good inclusion of antenna and the point of maximum sharpness is on a golden part at left of the image. The centered part also has some DOF but not so important as the eye and antenna.

Like the color combination of yellow and green, it is possible to improve the image changing the black background for a other color but I am fully aware that in field sometimes this is impossible.
